“Sounds to me like we have a mystery on our hands.” Zoinks, this is amazing! There’s a 10-min short film online called Scooby Doo, Where Are You? In… Springtrapped! A filmmaker named Eagan created this entirely on his own using the 3D software Blender 3.5. Technically it’s not actually stop-motion, he just recreated that same look & feel in the computer. “There are 3 things I love dearly, Scooby Doo, FNAF, and stop motion. I recently figured out how to mimic stop motion in Blender, and thus ‘Springtrapped!‘, a fan animation, was born. A labor of love to bring 3 of my favorite things together.” When the gang visits Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, they must investigate a mysterious case of the animatronics getting a bit quirky at night. There’s already a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie coming out this fall, and this is the perfect compliment. If I were Blumhouse, I’d buy it and play it as a short before the film. The voices includes Eagan Tilghman as Scooby, impersonator / voice actor “SuiteLifeofShaggy” as Shaggy, Daniel Kimball as William, and A.I.-generated voices for all the other characters. I love that it perfectly plays like a vintage Scooby Doo cartoon.
Thanks to Twitter for the tip on this fantastic short film. Brief intro from YouTube: “When the gang visits Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, they must investigate a mysterious case of the animatronics getting a bit quirky at night.” Springtrapped! is a fun animated short created and animated by filmmaker Eagan Tilghman – you can view more of his work on his YouTube channel or follow him on IG @eag2n or support him on Patreon here. Based on characters from Hanna-Barbera, Scott Cawthon, and Rankin Bass. Made using Blender 3.5. Eagan explains: “This isn’t intended to make money, it’s honestly created as a portfolio piece and giant joke that took me way too long to animate… The video is painstakingly designed, modeled, textured, animated, lit, rendered, edited, composited, and posted all by me, 1000% from scratch by hand with nothing other than my own brain and creative drive doing the work. I even learned to do a Scooby impression so I could voice Scooby myself!” For more info, visit YouTube. To discover more short films, click here. Your thoughts?
