Intensely Brutal Australian Horror Film ‘Beaten to Death’ Official Trailer

“Packed with intensity.” Welcome Villain has unveiled the first official trailer for a brutal horror film from Australia titled Beaten to Death, the latest feature from genre filmmaker Sam Curtain. After playing at the New York City Horror Film Festival in the fall last year, this will be opening in US theaters to watch in September. “Pain begs to be felt.” Eeesh. Critics are calling the horror “a non-stop nightmare”, adding that “it’s an exercise in brutalism, a sadistic excuse to push the limits of on-screen violence & gore.” A desperate choice leads Jack down a path that leaves him beaten and bruised as he struggles against man, nature, and his own insanity. Starring Thomas Roach, David Tracy, and Nicole Tudor. This other review sums it up: “No matter the response Beaten to Death elicits in its viewer, there’s no question that filmmaker Sam Curtain delivers a discomforting gauntlet of extreme horror.” This looks insane!! Sam Curtain’s film Beaten to Death unfolds after a desperate choice leads a man named Jack down a path that leaves him beaten and bruised as he struggles against man, nature, and his own sanity. Stranded in the middle of nowhere after barely surviving a horrific assault, Jack encounters one local after another and quickly learns that a sick game of cat and mouse is about to begin. Battling the deranged country psychos and the harsh landscape, Jack must go to extreme lengths to survive. Beaten to Death is directed by Australian horror filmmaker Sam Curtain, director of the films Blood Hunt and The Slaughterhouse Killer previously, plus a few other shorts. The screenplay is co-written by Sam Curtain and Benjamin Clarke. Produced by Sam Curtain, Benjamin Clarke, Libby Jessup, and Thomas Roach. This initially premiered at the 2022 A Night of Horror Film Festival in Australia last year.
