Freaky Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp’ Movie

“This might hurt a little…” Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a movie called Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp, another strange hybrid-CGI creation involving the classic animated character Woody Woodpecker (first created in 1940). This looks as weird and wacky as anything can, almost freaky, because it’s so absurd and dumb. There was another really bad Woody Woodpecker: The Movie in 2017 as well, now Netflix has their own for everyone to laugh at. Technically this is a sequel to that direct-to-video movie. In Woody Woodpecker Goes To Camp, Woody Woodpecker must find a new home after being kicked out of the forest. At Camp Woo Hoo, he thinks he’s found a forever home, but there’s an inspector on the loose who wants to shut down the camp. Starring Eric Bauza as the voice of Woody, with Mary-Louise Parker, Josh Lawson, Chloe De Los Santos, Esther Son, Evan Stanhope, Kevin Michael Richardson as Buzz Buzzard + Tom Kenny as Wally Walrus. Will this even be fun to watch? Or just painful? Hard to tell.

Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp is directed by veteran TV producer / director Jonathan A. Rosenbaum, a director on many, many TV series previously, including “Stuck in the Middle”, “Bizaardvark”, “Raven’s Home”, “Gabby Duran & The Unsittables”, “Sydney to the Max”, “Bunk’d”, “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” most recently. The screenplay is written by Cory Edwards, Jim Martin, and Stephen Mazur; from a story by Stephen Mazur. Based on the characters created in 1940 by Walter Lantz and storyboard artist Ben “Bugs” Hardaway for Walter Lantz Studio and Universal Pictures. It’s produced by Jon Kuyper; executive produced by Jonathan A. Rosenbaum. Netflix will debut the Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp film streaming on Netflix starting April 12th, 2024.
