We’re sad to share the news today that Emmy award-winning actor Ray Liotta passed away at the age of 67. We learned from Deadline that he died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters.
People.com is reporting that there is no foul play suspected in his death and that Nittolo, his fiancee, was with him when he passed. Liotta leaves behind a daughter, Karsen.
Ray Liotta shared recently that he was having a wonderful time with his career, finding himself busier than ever. He’s definitely yet another actor gone far too soon.
He added of his career, “It’s weird how this business works, because I’ve definitely had a career that’s up and down. For some reason, I’ve been busier this year than I have in all the years that I’ve been doing this. And I still feel I’m not there yet. I just think there’s a lot more.”
Ray Liotta has been in huge movies like Field of Dreams and Goodfellas, but horror fans will remember him from his roles in Hannibal (2001), Identity (2003), and the family-friendly movie Hubie Halloween (2020).
The actor also had starring roles in “Cop Land,” “Blow,” “Marriage Story” and “Something Wild.”
“I am utterly shattered to hear this terrible news about my Ray,” actress Lorraine Bracco, who played Henry Hill’s wife in Goodfellas, tweeted Thursday. “I can be anywhere in the world & people will come up & tell me their favorite movie is Goodfellas. Then they always ask what was the best part of making that movie. My response has always been the same…Ray Liotta.”
