A new trailer for Alien: Romulus teases the next chapter in the popular horror sci-fi franchise.
20th Century Studios has shared a new trailer for Alien: Romulus, the latest entry in the Alien franchise. Alien: Romulus releases in United States theaters in August 2024.

What do we know about Alien: Romulus?
“The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe,” the synopsis for the film reads.
Set between the events of Ridley Scott’s Alien and James Cameron’s Aliens, Alien: Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.
The film is directed by Fede Álvarez, who is best known for making the Evil Dead remake that was released in 2013. Álvarez also previously directed 2016’s Don’t Breathe, and 2018’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web, while he co-wrote the screenplay for 2021’s Don’t Breathe 2 and also contributed to the story for 2022’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Álvarez co-wrote co-wrote the screenplay for Alien: Romulus with Rodo Sayagues. He also serves as an executive producer alongside Elizabeth Cantillon, Brent O’Connor, and Tom Moran, while Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Walter Hill serve as producers.
Alien: Romulus isn’t the only Xenomorph-starring project fans have to look forward to as Noah Hawley is also working on an Alien series for FX on Hulu. Starring Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Timothy Olyphant, and more, Hawley’s Alien series is expected to premiere in 2025.
Alien: Romulus releases in United States theaters on August 16, 2024, from 20th Century Studios.
