“I really believed you when you said that you were ready for this. Now I’m watching you fall apart…” 🍽 Prime Video has revealed an official trailer for a horror film titled House of Spoils, ready to premiere at 2024 Fantastic Fest this fall. It’s the latest feature from the filmmakers who made the cult hit Blow the Man Down a few years ago, which we gave a rave review to back then. “Hope you’re all still hungry!” The intense thriller film tells the story of an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant – a farm-to-table place on a remote estate – where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor and self doubt, but the pressure heats up thanks to the spirit of the estate’s previous owner who threatens to sabotage her. Described as a “tense, psychological and sensuous thriller that will leave hearts pounding and mouth watering.” Starring Ariana DeBose as the head chef, Barbie Ferreira, Arian Moayed, Amara Karan, Mikkel Bratt Silset, and Marton Csokas. This goes from fascinating to horrifying pretty quickly! Definitely not another follow-up to The Menu at all. That intense mix of ambitious chef thriller with gross-out horror is seriously unsettling.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Cole & Krudy’s House of Spoils, direct from YouTube:
House of Spoils follows an ambitious chef (Ariana DeBose) who opens her first restaurant—a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate—where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor, crushing self doubts… and the powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner who threatens to sabotage her at every turn. House of Spoils is a tense, psychological, sensuous thriller that will leave hearts pounding and mouth watering. House of Spoils is co-written and co-directed by two filmmakers Bridget Savage Cole & Danielle Krudy, making their second feature after directing Blow the Man Down previously, plus episodes of the series “The Stand” and “Moonhaven” most recently. Produced by Jason Blum, Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks, Drew Houpt, Lucas Joaquin, Alex Scharfman. This is premiering soon at Fantastic Fest 2024.
