“When I get out of this… I’m coming to get you.” Ohh boy, watch out! Brainstorm Media has revealed the official trailer for an action thriller titled Take Cover, yet another film being made by a stuntman shifting into directing. It’s set for a VOD release in October, though it doesn’t seem good enough to waste any money renting it. “No cover, no backup and no way out.” A burned-out professional sniper finds himself trapped in an all-glass penthouse by a lethal competitor and must find a way to survive and somehow escape with little to no cover between him and the killer. Starring Scott Adkins as the aging hitman Sam Lorde, Jack Parr, Alice Eve, Madalina Bellariu Ion, Peter Caulfield, and Billy Clements. Meh… Yet another of these extremely generic, exceptionally derivative action films about a hitman trying to get out but being unable to cleanly leave his past. But all in one room now. So original… Adkins doing his Adkins thing & that’s about it.

Sam Lorde (action star Scott Adkins) has got no cover, no back-up, and no way out in this claustrophobic action thriller. He has spent a lifetime killing people. After a hit gone wrong, he finds himself disillusioned and lacking purpose, deciding to retire as a hitman. His final job however, results in him being a target himself. With little to no cover, he must fight with everything he has to survive. Take Cover is directed by American stuntman turned filmmaker Nick McKinless, making his second feature film after directing The Iron Grip (2005) previously and one other short film; plus tons of stunt work in Hollywood. The screenplay is written by Joshua Todd James. Produced by Ben Jacques. Brainstorm Media will debut McKinless’s Take Cover in select US theaters + on VOD starting on October 4th, 2024 this fall.
