“What is more important? A marriage or a career? I don’t know?” Strange answer… Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a documentary film called Martha, the latest from director R.J. Cutler who also made this year’s Elton John: Never Too Late doc. This is another new documentary about Martha Stewart, who has been profiled a few times before, notably in the film The Many Lives of Martha Stewart. This new film covers the breadth of her extraordinary life through intimate interviews with Stewart herself, who opened up her personal archives to share never-before-seen photos, letters, and diary entries. Through intimate and revealing interviews with the icon herself and those from her inner circle, R.J. Cutler’s definitive doc film on Martha Stewart traces her rise from teenage model to her reign as the original influencer and America’s first self-made female billionaire. This almost seems like part of the marketing strategy in support of her, as if they want to clean up her image, but there are tons of biopic docs like this out there these days. Take a look.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for R.J. Cutler’s doc film Martha, direct from Netflix’s YouTube:
This definitive documentary on Martha Stewart pulls back the curtain on one of America’s greatest self-made icons, from her start as a teenage model to her stint as a Wall Street stockbroker to her reign as the grand dame of entertaining and good taste. Directed by R.J. Cutler, Martha draws on hundreds of hours of intimate interviews with Stewart and those from her inner circle, along with Stewart’s private archives of diaries, letters, and never-seen-before footage. Martha is directed by acclaimed, award-winning doc filmmaker R.J. Cutler, director of the films A Perfect Candidate, The September Issue, The World According to Dick Cheney, Belushi, Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul, and this year’s Elton John: Never Too Late as well.
