Prince William enjoyed a down-to-earth outing with Heidi Klum, Billy Porter and Winnie Harlow in celebration of the recent Earthshot Prize Awards.
As part of William’s multi-day trip to South Africa, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales met with local fishermen in Kalk Bay Harbour on Thursday, November 7, to learn more about the eco-friendly contributions of Abalobi, an organization that was an Earthshot Prize finalist in 2023.
William, Klum, 51, Porter, 55, and Harlow, 30, also came together with rapper Tobe Nwigwe for a traditional fish braai lunch, serving each other local delicacies out of a wooden bowl.
William sported a light blue button-down with a coordinating navy bomber jacket and slacks. For a rugged touch, the prince still sported the scruffy beard he debuted back in August.
Klum also dressed casually in a black sweater, rose-colored sunglasses and a blue “Abalobi” baseball cap. Harlow, for her part, opted for a zebra-print blouse, while Porter popped in a red top with leather pants.
The low-key luncheon was held in honor of the Earthshot Prize Awards, which William cofounded in 2020 to seek green solutions to global issues. He attended the awards ceremony solo as his wife, Princess Kate Middleton, has been recently recovering from cancer treatment.
“She’s doing really well, thanks,” William told reporters on Wednesday, November 6. “Hopefully, she is watching tonight. Cheering me on. … She’s been amazing this whole year. I know she will be really keen to see tonight be a success.”
Kate, 42, was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year, later undergoing a round of chemotherapy. She finished the treatment in September.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate said in a video statement at the time. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
Kate added, “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales shares sons Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 6, and daughter Princess Charlotte, 9.
