Snoop Dogg keeps ‘em coming. A week after releasing “Outta da Blue” and a month after dropping “Gorgeous,” the Doggfather is back again with “Another Part of Me,” a Sting-featuring duet that arrives as the latest single from his upcoming album, Missionary.
Produced by Dr. Dre and The ICU, “Another Part of Me” kicks off with a mock-live feel, with a crowd cheering as a grooving reimagination of “Message in a Bottle” plays, anchored by the song’s iconic guitar riff. Snoop then enters with auto-tuned vocals, singing a melody inspired by The Police’s original, before settling into his signature rap flow.
After that, Sting gets his turn, and actually delivers a quasi-rap himself, with quick-flowing lines like “Time is present, I stay active, momma’s laughing when we’s rapping/ Millions stacking, look what happened, life just isn’t the same” and the closing couplet, “Mmm, gotta get up out of my way/ Yeah, there’s no better time than today.” Stream the single below.
“Another Part of Me” is the third single to arrive from Missionary, the first Snoop album fully produced by Dr. Dre since 1993’s Doggystyle. Released via Death Row, Aftermath and Interscope, the new record is due in full on December 13th, and will feature guest appearances by Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Jelly Roll, the late Tom Petty, and more.
Meanwhile, Snoop is booked for two upcoming shows: a showcase with Warren G, E-40, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and others dubbed “Kings of the West,” which will be hosted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles tomorrow (November 30th); and a one-off performance at the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California on December 27th.
