Before the New York Times sexual harassment exposés and alleged smear campaigns and $400 million lawsuits, even before the weirdly segregated premiere that first raised the eyebrows of most fans… There was the It Ends With Us production.
We know the 2023 set was fraught with drama between Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni, we’ve been hearing varied takes on it for the past six months. But apparently someone was spilling the tea from set way back then, DURING FILMING!
Yes, DeuxMoi has been doing some digging amid all the recent claims — and found a message a source sent her about what was happening on set in June 2023. The Deux U podcast host noted she had actually published the insider’s message back then — only it didn’t blow up at the time. She said it was largely concerns about how the writer strike was affecting the budget, stuff folks were really thinking about at the time.
They also mentioned author Colleen Hoover came to set for a cameo in the birthday party scene and kind of took control of everything. (And that is where she appears in the movie, for those who haven’t seen it.) None of that is all that interesting now, right?
However, there was some hot tea in there… it just needed time to steep! The way they described Blake on set is as an absolute DIVA! She said:
“Blake is difficult. She continually shows up to set unprepared, doesn’t know her lines, and can’t seem to take any feedback/constructive criticism.”
They added
“I can’t stress the Blake not knowing her lines and how bad it was. One of the days I shot Blake has literally one scene and ten sentences — she didn’t know any of it. All of the crew was talking, saying Blake seems disinterested in her role. It was a back-and-forth convo with Jenny Slate, and even Jenny looked like she was ready to give it up to Blake.”
The insider said they sent everyone on break while Blake went into a corner and learned her lines. That meant putting the whole movie on pause:
“They keep bringing us to set and then telling us to go back to our holding area.”
(Hmm. Holding area… Sounds like this source might be an extra, doesn’t it?)
Anyway, not caring, not preparing, making everyone wait on her, not taking feedback… Whoa. Really backs up Justin’s side, right? About Blake being a total mean girl? Well, not so fast!
Here’s what they said about Baldoni — it’s WAY worse!
“The main problem is that the director, Justin Baldoni, he is an actor, not a director, and it shows. He has no clue what he’s doing. You’d think he would have understood more common sense things when it comes to a movie shoot from being an actor, but he doesn’t. He gives off the vibe of a rich kid whose mommy and daddy bought him in to film school.”
Damn! But that’s just the start. It’s not all about incompetence — this person also painted a picture of a predator using his position to be inappropriate with women on set! They continued:
“He was flirting with Olivia Ponton on set so hard it was embarrassing. Like puppy-dog eyes.”
Olivia Ponton??
Yeah, if you didn’t know, the model just has a cameo in the movie. But according to this source, Justin — a married man — was all over her, “talking about how happy he was to have found her for the film, was upset he didn’t discover her earlier because he would have given her a bigger part because her ‘beauty deserves a stage.’” Ewwww! They added:
“It was so cringe. He’s also double her age and married.”
Ugh, yeah. Barely an exaggeration. She was about 21 at the time of filming, and he was about 40. ICK if true!
Anyway, that’s the super fresh scoop from about 18 months ago! Does it change YOUR opinion at all??
