Recently, the rights for A Nightmare on Elm Street went back to Wes Craven’s estate. So, its only a matter of the right deal before we see the king of nightmares back again. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Jason Blum told them that he would love to make another Nightmare on Elm Street film with Robert Englund playing Freddy Krueger one last time.
Blum said that he has managed to bring back Jamie Lee Curtis for Halloween and Ellen Burstyn for the upcoming Exorcist sequel. So, he is fully confident that he can bring back Englund.
“I could make him come back. I can get anyone back. Ellen Burstyn was 87, and I got her back in The Exorcist. Yeah, (Robert Englund is) 75, he’s young!” Blum told Screen Rant.
Blumhouse making a Nightmare on Elm Street film feels like the best bet of the franchise making a comeback and if Blum can make the whole Englund thing happen, then we are double onboard and in love with the idea.
Englund himself said that he would love to come back to play Krueger once again. So, all the cards seem to be on the table and it appears that this is all just a matter of time. Fingers crossed.
