It wasn’t long before Russell Brand generated another eyebrow-raising tweet of sorts, but not all were in agreement with it. The comedian and commentator had once posted Britain’s simple kindness and genuineness. Well, boy did that bring about a lot of hate and love against him. Some agreed and others not so much.

Basically, it linked to something-a video or article-with striped-back old-school British values. The replies went from some nostalgia to critics of that nostalgia and quite a few just new-home random hot takes. Beatrice got political and said this present king should cease the monarchy under his rule. Then here is this fellow, Camiloou Johnsonze, who came with some of his own kind of finance flex, where he boasted about a sweet half-taken cover of more than $160,000 within portfolio profits! Like…what?
Olivia di Monaco came in polemicizing over what Brand proposed to mean by Freddie Mercury as a “trivial synecdoche.” Good diction; but honestly, who has it around here? John simply went on revolutionary about the England needing a revolution, or it’s all going to be “finished.” Quite dramatic don’t you find?
Then there was ElizabethH’nJackson dripping venom about good old time treatments like onions on feet for fevers. Weird but somewhat wholesome. Not everyone was either loving or vibing on it. Booji straight lambasted the dude with claims that he mocked the death of Freddie Mercury by AIDS, which, I mean, yikes! There were just others like RAMJUGGLER, who roasted Brand for being ‘not funny and ‘cringe.’ Very rude!
This is when Chez Owen curiously offered to ‘fix’ Brand’s ‘cognitive dissonance’ as if he were the agent. Variously, Susan Hayward ‘Auntie Susan’ had a pretty sweet-but-chaotic text-a message about barley water and ‘innoculations nonsense.’ And GaribaldiGraham just renounced the rap-charging thing of Brand in a ‘while we are here’ good-humored way.
There were some really nice anti-monarchy declamations on thread, with SAVE OHIO piped up and screamed that the royals are ‘costly and useless.’ Vincent Garrett even linked to a BBC article of Brand’s legal troubles, which…not cool. But then again, Aleksandar The Great from Yugoslavia gave a shout-out to old Britain, so it wasn’t all bad energy.
Others like Howard Grocott jotted down that Brand was doing a ‘survey on British prisons,’ while Yamnayaman and Tyrone Fonseca debated if Britain is now ‘ethnically British’ or woke and broke. For Stan, all he could say was that Britain ‘still is’ great, to which TomJonesAgain countered with a short history lesson about working-class struggles.

So generally: Nostalgia mixed with a bit of political rhetoric and some personal gripes has been stirred up by Brand’s tweet. Some people miss old Britain; others think it’s just one big fairy tale. And some capitalized upon this opportunity to rain on Brand’s parade just for being Brand. Whatever your opinion is about it, one thing is sure: this has struck a nerve with people-and they are speaking out!
