Victoria Beckham hijacking Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz‘s first dance on their wedding day was not the first and last time she has pulled such a mean stunt on her daughter-in-law! Apparently, Posh Spice does it all the time!
If you keep up with the family drama, you remember rumors of a feud between Victoria and Nicola sparked when the young couple got married in 2022. The Transformers: Age of Extinction actress ticked off her mother-in-law because she wore a Valentino wedding gown instead of a VB original, leading to a fallout. The two squashed the speculation over the years. However, the rift reignited this year when Nicola and Brooklyn skipped David Beckham‘s 50th birthday celebrations.
We’ve since come to learn more about the wedding drama because of the current family troubles, including that Nicola was “absolutely foul” to Victoria and other family members at the time. Oh, and that the 51-year-old fashion designer reportedly pulled a massive petty move during the reception!

As we previously reported, a source for People claimed family friend, Marc Anthony, planned to perform one of his songs for Brooklyn and Nicola’s first dance “as a gift.” But before the performance began, he reportedly called “Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up.’” And it wasn’t Nicola’s name Marc called out! The singer asked for Victoria instead! Yes, really!
And what’s worse? The Spice Girls member then slow danced with Brooklyn! OMG! She totally took the pair’s special moment away from them! As you can imagine, Nicola was upset and “felt like Victoria did this on purpose!” The situation led the Lola director to “run from the room crying,” and she felt like the makeup mogul “ruined her wedding.” Oof.
Despite how badly Victoria hurt Nicola that day, she reportedly has not stopped tormenting her daughter-in-law. A source close to Nicola and Brooklyn told Page Six on Thursday:
“Everyone in the room witnessed what happened. The shock was palpable. It was deeply hurtful. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a one-off. It’s a pattern that still happens to this day.”
Yikes! The same insider backed the account of what supposedly happened at the wedding from People. But according to a second source, the outlet left out some important details. Starting with, Marc’s performance reportedly happened later in the evening… after Nicola and Brooklyn already danced together a few times! So, the pair already had their first and second dance by the time Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband got on stage! What?! The second insider claimed:
“They had their first dance and a second as is evidenced and then Nicola had the traditional dance with her father. Much later in the evening when Marc Anthony performed lots of people got up to dance and yes finally then Brooklyn and Victoria Beckham had a dance. As did David and his daughter.”
With those details in mind, the source said that “everyone is mystified why that would have upset Nicola” — including Victoria. Hmm. If Marc’s performance was a wedding gift to Nicola and Brooklyn, and they planned a dance together, we can understand why she’s upset. Perhaps Victoria didn’t take over the duo’s first dance, but she still did them dirty in this case. She wrecked their plans and stole their present. It’s messed up!
But is this what exactly happened? Another source alleged there is still more to the story! Nicola and Brooklyn reportedly used the songs Only Fools Rush In and Stand By Me for their first and second dances. That said, a different insider told Page Six the dances were “brief” and only meant for photos while the Bates Motel alum was in her wedding dress. They claimed it was a “precursor” to the real thing that would take place once Marc hit the stage, and they chose to dance to his track You Sang to Me:
“This was the special, romantic, big dance.”
The insider said the moment was “known, planned and choreographed,” and yet Victoria still decided to ruin it:
“This was a six-figure investment in the band. It was a lot of planning and different choreography for the evening to make sure this was going to be their big moment. Everyone in both families knew that, and [Victoria] chose to do this.”
That’s brutal!
It doesn’t matter what Victoria thinks about Nicola. She should not have done that to her son or daughter-in-law during their wedding. It’s just cruel.
No wonder why the Beckham family are struggling these days! People can only take so much before they have enough and decide they need some space. And after Victoria’s reported antics throughout their marriage, and other family issues, Nicola and Brooklyn seemingly reached that point. How sad. Reactions, Perezcious readers?
