Brad Pitt has escalated his ongoing legal dispute with ex-wife Angelina Jolie by filing a motion that demands access to her private communications, as the two continue to clash over ownership and dealings related to the French winery Château Miraval. According to court documents, Pitt is asking the court to compel Oliynik to sit for a deposition. The F1 star argues that efforts to resolve the issue with Oliynik have made no progress. In the filing, Pitt claims Oliynik has refused to comply, citing Switzerland’s legal protection that foreign nationals cannot be forced to travel to California for legal proceedings. However, Pitt’s attorneys argue that the rule does not apply in this instance. They are only requesting a remote deposition conducted in the country where Oliynik resides.
The legal dispute started after Jolie sold her share in Château Miraval, which she and Pitt originally purchased together during their relationship. Pitt has contested the sale, claiming Jolie decided to retaliate against him following their bitter separation. He filed suit against her in 2022, alleging that the sale was “vindictive.”
In the latest legal documents, Pitt alleges that Oliynik played a role in the sale beyond mere involvement. He was also acting under the guidance of Stoli Group’s owner, Yuri Shefler. The motion describes Oliynik as a “key operative” in the transaction and a key witness to the case.
One insider told Page Six, “Stoli has consistently chosen to avoid or challenge evidentiary court rulings. They’ve been failing to comply with the typical legal process.” As of now, no trial date has been scheduled in the lawsuit.
