This fall features some exciting news for 9-1-1 fans. A brand new show will be debuting, and not a moment too late, because the mothership experienced a loss that must be compensated for.
In 9-1-1: Nashville, NCIS: Los Angeles vet Chris O’Donnell trades the hunt for naval criminals for saving lives in the country music capital of the world.
He plays Captain Don Sharpe, the seasoned captain of Station 113.
One of the biggest jobs of a captain is to champion for his team, encouraging them when they feel down.
It was a job Bobby was very good at, knowing the right thing to say at the right time. And now with Bobby gone, it’s time to lean on the new captain.
ABC released a teaser trailer for the show premiering on October 9, and Captain Sharpe’s words are enough to lure you into the world of the show.
“We form a bond, stronger than blood. Cause ours is a family that is forged in fire,” he says in the video below. Who doesn’t want to be in that family?
The video also introduces the show’s main cast, which also includes Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and LeAnn Rimes. Michael Provost, Hailey Kilgore, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey round out the main cast.
Nashville offers the opportunity for the show to tell some unique stories, at least unique to the city and state.
High drama from the ranching and music world is expected to be a staple of the show, and if the show’s theme song is any indicator, the music will be pretty good.
The show is set and shot in Music City, so viewers can expect everything they love from a 9-1-1 franchise with music at the heart.
Kilgore’s character is poised to be the musical one in the show, so expect some live performances.
Looking ahead to the premiere, the show appears to have a significant event planned that involves a massive fire tornado and casualties at a Kane Brown concert.
The 9-1-1 universe is known for its daring emergencies, and it doesn’t seem like Nashville is dropping the ball in this aspect.
The newest entry into the franchise, 9-1-1: Nashville, is a high-octane procedural about heroic first responders, as well as their family saga of power and glamour set in one of America’s most diverse and dynamic cities.
Following the conclusion of 9-1-1: Lone Star, its showrunner, Rashad Raisani, takes over showrunning for 9-1-1: Nashville.
If the teaser’s any indication, 9-1-1: Nashville is coming in hot — and we are so here for it.
Between fire tornadoes, musical mayhem, and a brand-new captain ready to lead the charge, this franchise spinoff might just be the jolt Thursday nights needed.
