A Georgia mother killed her two sons within years of one another, but when it was found out, she showed absolutely no remorse. So, what caused her to commit these crimes, and what will her punishment be? Keep reading for more details on this tragic situation.
Georgia Mother Kills Infant Sons Years Apart
Becoming a mother should be the most incredible time in someone’s life. For most, they would do anything to protect their babies. They would never dream of harming them, and that is how it should be. Unfortunately, a mother from Georgia did not feel the same way about her infant sons. Rather, she chose to kill both of them within three and a half years of each other. Twenty-one-year-old Dakota Nicole Taylor has finally been charged with killing her sons. They were Micah, 7 months, and Caleb, 9 months. The first murder occurred in 2021, and the victim was Micah.

In 2025, Dakota went after Caleb, who became her second victim. She is from Thomson, Georgia, and a petition surfaced around social media in an attempt to get her arrested back in July. Followers felt that had Dakota been behind bars for the death of Micah, she would never have had the chance to hurt Caleb. Sadly, that was not the case, and now she is facing the consequences. Dakota was ultimately arrested on Tuesday, November 25th, and an investigation is underway by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. She was living in a group home when she had Micah and had given him a bath the night he died.

Dakota then brought him to a swing, and he was found slumped over. Per an officer, Dakota did not seem to care that Micah subsequently passed away:
“I don’t know if this has anything to do with anything, but the mother, didn’t … She was very … Like ‘alright, whatever.’ And I was like your baby is …”
This raised some eyebrows, but nothing came of it, and then Caleb died from suffocation due to “excessive physical and mental pain.”
The Aftermath
Caleb headed to a family member’s home, but his mother had covered him up. Therefore, no one could see what he looked like. When the blanket was lifted on the Georgia infant, it was seen that he needed immediate medical help. Eventually, he passed, and now, Dakota Nicole Taylor has been charged with:
- malice murder
- felony murder
- cruelty to children in the first degree
Every charge has two counts, but people feel that the system is such a failure:
- The system here in Augusta fails kids so badly. There can be multiple open DFACS cases opened on a mother and they won’t see a pattern.
- She’s going to pay! God sits high, and looks low.
It will be interesting to see what her ultimate punishment will be. Have you heard about this case before, and are you surprised she was able to do it twice? Let us know in the comments below.
