For years, David Muir has broken various news stories to audiences through ABC World News Tonight. However, Muir recently shared a peek into his personal life with fans on social media. Someone special to him also made an appearance, just in time for the holidays.
David Muir Is Famously Private About His Everyday Life
Muir is known for his work as an anchor for ABC World News Tonight, having first joined the show in 2007. He assumed his current anchor position in 2014, following Diane Sawyer. In addition, Muir is also known for his work with 20/20.
Despite sharing various stories with the world, Muir himself is known to be very private about his personal life. The Syracuse, New York-native, however, recently shared a rare look into his everyday life on social media.
Muir’s share was just in time for the holiday season. As he wrote to his followers, “Merry Christmas Eve,” complete with a Christmas tree emoji.
The ABC World News Tonight Anchor Also Shared Axel’s Christmas Present
In the first photo, Muir could be seen looking into the window of an ornate house, against a large tree. Notably, Muir could be seen wearing a coat and a beanie, a stark contrast to his normally polished look on his newscast.
In the second photo, Muir’s dog Axel could be seen peering at a Christmas reindeer decoration through a gate. Around this time, Muir also shared a photo of Axel lying next to a Christmas present, decorated with the dog’s face in an Instagram Story.
Muir had adopted Axel back in 2019 and has occasionally shown off their lives together on social media. Back in late November, Muir also shared a carousel post made up of photos of Axel in time for Thanksgiving.
As previously noted, Muir has been absent from ABC World News Tonight, with The Mirror U.S. sharing that he had the week off for the holidays. Various figures, including Rachel Scott and Whit Johnson, have been filling in for him during the interim.
Taking to the comments, many fans shared their reactions to seeing Muir’s recent holiday post. Naturally, many also took the time to wish Muir and Axel a happy holiday. Some comments included:
