North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has already accomplished a lot in her young life. However, recent news has come out that suggests she might also have a new venture under her belt. This story also brings to mind a previous endeavor that her mother, Kim, had shared with fans years prior.
North West Is A Social Media Influencer & Media Personality
North West is the daughter of mogul Kim Kardashian and rapper/ record producer Kanye West. She has been in the spotlight since she was in her mother’s belly and has yet to slow down.
Even at a young age, North West, who was born in 2013, has pursued various careers, including actress and rapper. However, news has come out suggesting that she is ready to follow her mother’s footsteps.
According to recent reports, North West might specifically want to be an entrepreneur. Her mother, Kim, has filed a trademark to use North West’s name to develop various toys. These could include dolls, play-sets, puzzles, party games, and even puppets.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has shared documents that Kim originally filed to trademark her eldest daughter’s name for these items back in 2023. Her lawyer had filed multiple times for extensions in the trademark process.
As of September 2025, the case was still pending. Additionally, Kim doesn’t appear to be in the actual process of developing such toys using her daughter’s name. However, she could soon be able to if she chooses to do so. If the deal goes through, North West could also be following in her mother’s entrepreneurial example.
Years Ago, Kim Kardashian Shared That She Almost Had Her Own Barbie Doll
Even at just 12 years old, North West already has a colorful resume. In 2023, she lent her voice to a character in the Paw Patrol movie. She also appears regularly on the Kardashian family’s Hulu reality show, The Kardashians. Many also know her as a social media influencer, with 20 million followers on TikTok.
Kim herself is also known for her entrepreneurial ventures, such as her Skims line. North West has even modeled pajamas for the line.
Kim doesn’t have an official doll line in her own image, but this once came close to reality. Back in 2019, she shared in a tweet that there were once plans to produce a Barbie doll in her likeness. However, as she shared, “The deal got cancelled.”
To cheer her up about the cancelled project, Kim shared that Kanye managed to get a prototype of the doll produced. While she didn’t share an image of the doll, she shared a series of photos of herself in a little black dress, noting that the doll would “wear this exact look.”
