Peacock is set to expand its streaming catalog with the arrival of the entire Fifty Shades film series. The R rated series, which followed the relationship between a billionaire executive and a college student earned more than a billion dollars at the global box office.
All three Fifty Shades movies to release on Peacock very soon
Peacock is preparing to add the entire Fifty Shades trilogy to its streaming library next month. According to The Nerdy, Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed will arrive on the platform beginning February 1, 2026.
The trilogy debuted in theaters between 2015 and 2018, starting with Fifty Shades of Grey in February 2015. It was followed by Fifty Shades Darker in 2017 and concluded with Fifty Shades Freed in 2018. Adapted from E. L. James’ bestselling novels, the films follows the turbulent relationship between literature student Anastasia Steele and wealthy businessman Christian Grey.
The first film follows Anastasia whose life changes after she interviews billionaire Christian Grey for her college paper. Their meeting quickly turns into a complicated romance and exposes Grey’s troubling past and emotional restraints.
The sequel follows the former couple as they attempt to rebuild their romance under new terms. Though Christian and Anastasia abandon previous rules and punishments, unresolved trauma continues to strain the relationship. Their relationship is tested again when figures from Grey’s past resurface and threaten their future together.
In third film, Anastasia and Christian marry and settle into a lavish new life. However, their stability is short lived as enemies from the past introduce new risks that jeopardize their safety and relationship.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan lead the franchise as Anastasia and Christian. The supporting cast includes Eloise Mumford as Katherine Kavanagh, Jennifer Ehle as Carla Wilks, and Marcia Gay Harden as Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey.
Though the trilogy was quite popular, it struggled to impress critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, Fifty Shades of Grey holds a 25 percent critics score, while both sequels stand at 11 percent. Despite the poor reviews, the trilogy earned a combined $1.32 billion at the global box (via ScreenRant).
