Peaky Blinders Movie Gets Rave Reviews, RT Score for Cillian Murphy Netflix Sequel

The Peaky Blinders movie is set to release in select theaters this week, with a wide release on Netflix set for March 20, 2026. Ahead of its release, the movie’s reviews have begun pouring in — and they’re stellar.

What are the Peaky Blinders movie reviews saying?

On Rotten Tomatoes, the new movie, titled Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, debuted to a stellar 93% score. The score would be one of Cillian Murphy’s highest for a film. Among the praise for the movie, many highlight Murphy’s performance, as well as how excellently the movie continues the story of Tommy Shelby from the Netflix series.

Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw called the movie a “resoundingly confident drama,” while TheWrap’s Chase Hutchinson said the movie’s “closing frames prove to be a fitting sendoff for him as well as his long, sad saga. For what could very well be the last time, he and Murphy burn bright.”

The Daily Beast’s Nick Schager echoed the sentiments, calling the movie “a rousing elegy to an underworld saga par excellence and, in particular, to a ruthless and tormented gangster whom, in Murphy’s expert hands, stands as an undisputed crime-fiction icon.”

Consequence’s Liz Shannon Miller also said the movie “captures what made the original series so watchable: The grand scope of history as seen from the ground, the daily grind of crime in sharp contrast to world events, and the everyday men and women just trying to survive it all.” Variety’s Guy Lodge also said the movie “serves as a handsome reminder of what always felt quite cinematic about the series — both in its beefy-but-pulpy storytelling and its robust, well-patinated production values.”

Murphy reprises his role as Tommy Shelby in the film, while the cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, Jay Lycurgo, Barry Keoghan, and Stephen Graham. The script comes from series creator Seteven Knight, while Tom Harper is directing the picture.
