Netflix’s new TV and movie releases for the week of July 27-August 2, 2026, include A Quiet Place: Day One.
The apocalyptic horror film is the prequel spinoff of the first film in the franchise, A Quiet Place, starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. It follows an alien invasion in NYC, turning things upside down for a woman and survivors around her. They soon find out they must remain silent as the creatures get attracted to the slightest sound. The film opened to positive reviews and became a box office success, grossing $262 million worldwide. It features Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and many others in key roles.
Also coming to Netflix is the black comedy drama Ingrid Goes West. It focuses on Ingrid, who travels to Los Angeles to befriend Taylor, a well-known social media influencer, believing her life is perfect. The film received positive reviews and features Aubrey Plaza, Elizabeth Olsen, Billy Magnussen, and Wyatt Russell among others in important roles.
