Jessica Tarlov shut down her Fox News co-hosts after they claimed Republican “Blacks” are “better.”
During the Friday, July 24 episode of The Five, Tarlov got into it with Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters as the group discussed threats made against President Donald Trump compared to threats made against Democrat politicians. She pointed out that Minnesota Democratic Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed in their home in 2025.
“No one knows who that is,” Watters insisted, while Gutfeld added, “Trump didn’t say, ‘Go out there and get in their face.’”
To that, Tarlov said, “The pipe bomber who said in court, ‘I was inspired by Donald Trump.’” She was referring to Cesar Sayoc, who in 2019 pled guilty to 65 felonies after mailing 16 bombs to politicians who were against Trump.
“Which pipe bomber? The Black guy?” Watters asked, referencing Brian Cole Jr., who was charged for allegedly placing pipe bombs outside of RNC and DNC headquarters before the January 6 Capitol attack. “Remember when we found out he was, like, some random Black guy?”
“Oh my God. Ha ha ha, random Black guy!” Tarlov sarcastically replied. “You have no Black people. So I get it, on your side. Is that what you’re trying to say?”
Watters insisted, “We have a few. We’re working on it,” to which Tarlov shot back, “Work harder.”
Gutfeld then taunted, “Ours are better than yours.”
“Not touching that,” Tarlov declared.

Although Watters pointed out that Republicans won a higher percentage of Black voters in the 2024 election, Tarlov replied that it was “like, 1 percent more.”
“I’ll take it!” Watters said. “You keep losing whites! Rather have the whites, statistically.”
“I’m out!” Tarlov conceded. “I am racially out.”
In response, Gutfeld told Watters, “Jesse, do not get into an argument with somebody who keeps score of skin color.” Tarlov argued, “He said, ‘We have better Blacks than you.’”
“No, I didn’t say that,” Watters said, to which Gutfeld corrected, “I said that.”
Watters then joked, “You’re mixing up the white guys again. Because we all look alike.”
