Netflix has released the official trailer for The Diplomat Season 4 and announced its release date. The preview offers a peek into what lies ahead for Kate Wyler as she tackles more political conspiracies.
The Diplomat Season 4 arrives on Netflix on Thursday, October 15, 2026. All eight episodes of the upcoming season are expected to be released together for fans to binge.
The fourth season of the political thriller picks up right after the cliffhanger ending of Season 3. The last season saw Kate finding out that her husband, Vice President Hal Wyler, stole a Russian nuclear weapon with President Grace Penn. Not only is their marriage now at a tipping point, but the fragile diplomatic relations that Kate built between the US and the UK are also under threat.

The Diplomat Season 4 trailer begins with Keri Russell’s Kate Wyler saying, “I’m not trying to get out of the marriage, I’m trying to get back in.” She adds, “We do high highs and really low lows. The fights are gonna be spicy.” In response, her husband Hal, played by Rufus Sewell, says, “You can’t keep doing this to me.”
The teaser also features a montage of intriguing scenes from the season, showcasing the couple’s marital tensions amid the impending political turmoil.
In Season 4, President Penn and Hal’s conspiracy to steal Russia’s nuclear power threatens to plunge the US into war. Meanwhile, Kate tries to mend the diplomatic ties with the UK. She joins hands with Todd to prevent Grace and Hal from destabilizing the power in both the domestic and global political arena.
