Best mother-daughter date ever? Actor Salma Hayek was joined by her 15-year-old daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, on the 2023 Oscars red carpet Sunday evening, and the two stunned in coordinating red gowns. Hayek sizzled in a sequined, curve-hugging Gucci number and left the rest of her outfit minimal: loose waves, glowy makeup, and a simple gold clutch. Pinault coordinated in a red strapless, A-line dress that she accessorized with a sparkly choker and glam Old Hollywood waves.
The two also posed with actor Pedro Pascal and his sister Javiera Balmaceda on the carpet:
Hayek attended the evening’s ceremony as she recently voiced the role of Kitty Softpaws in the animated film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film along with Turning Red, Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and The Sea Beast. Ultimately, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio took home the prize.
“What beautiful news to wake up to!” Hayek wrote on Instagram after the nominations were announced. “Thank you to @TheAcademy for #PussInBoots: The Last Wish’s nomination for Best Animated Film! And congratulations to my incredible PIB family!”
In September, Hayek also showed love for her daughter on Instagram, posting a carousel for her 15th birthday and writing in Spanish: “Happy 15th birthday to my lovely 15th birthday girl. Valentina you are my everything, thank you for lighting up our lives with the strength of your wonderful spirit. It’s a privilege to be your Mom. I love you with all my heart ♥️. #theygrowsofast”
