Taylor Swift commits. Following the release of her tenth album “Midnights” last year, the singer-songwriter has been staying on theme with her style. At the 2023 Grammy Awards on Feb. 5 in Los Angeles, Swift arrived on the red carpet wearing an embellished Roberto Cavalli two-piece set in midnight blue.
The sparkling outfit consisted of a long-sleeved, mockneck crop top and matching column skirt with a slight train, both featuring blue embellishments in various places. Styled by Joseph Cassell Falconer, the look was paired with statement diamond earrings featuring purple gemstones — a likely nod to Swift’s latest single and music video release, “Lavender Haze.”
Swift’s Grammys look alluded to some of her past fashion eras as well. The midnight-blue color could be a nod to the “Fearless”-era dress she wore in 2010 when she won her first Grammy. Likewise, the two-piece silhouette recalls her 1989-era bra-and-skirt look at the 2016 Grammys.
Swift is known to send signals and leave clues for her fans via her wardrobe. Her latest “Midnights” era has been marked by metallics, sequins, and sexier silhouettes. In early January, Swift wore a silver Paco Rabanne dress while making a surprise appearance at a The 1975 concert in London. Months before that, she popped up at the 2022 American Music Awards in a gold sequin jumpsuit referencing the lyrics to her TikTok-viral single “Bejeweled.”
This is another big Grammys night for Swift, whose “All Too Well: The Short Film” won the best music video award before the show even began. Swift also received nominations for song of the year, best country song, and best song written for visual media.
