Guerlain launches an innovative new concealer
Following the success of Guerlain’s Terracotta Le Teint Healthy Glow Foundation last year, the brand has now released its perfect match: the Terracotta Natural Perfection Concealer. Combining the long-lasting power of a liquid concealer with the blurring radiance of a correcting powder, this hybrid corrector is seriously one-of-a-kind.
“This concealer is for people who want really beautiful, natural skin but still want to cover up little things like dark circles and blemishes,” says Violette Serrat, Guerlain’s creative director of makeup, over a Zoom call. Serrat worked on both Terracotta complexion product launches, and is known for her signature chic French-girl makeup looks to over half-a-million Instagram followers.
Formulated with 95 per cent naturally derived ingredients, the concealer is infused with argan oil to hydrate the under-eye skin. “For added colour correction, I’ve incorporated just the right quantity of coloured pigments,” she says. The formula is an innovative liquid-powder blend, meaning it applies and lasts like a liquid concealer while remaining weightless and blurring like a powder. “With this formula, I didn’t want to add too much powder into it because it goes under the eye and you don’t want too much on the skin that might be drying or [sink into] fine lines and wrinkles.”
The result is a comfortable, long-wearing concealer that you’ll reach for day after day. —Souzan Michael Galway
Kylie Cosmetics launches its first fragrance
Prepare for lift-off — Kylie Jenner just made her fragrance debut and Cosmic by Kylie Cosmetics smells out-of-this world. Packaged in a sculptural bottle designed to look like a work of extraterrestrial art, the skin-inspired fragrance opens up with notes of star jasmine (one of Jenner’s favourite scents) that flows into golden amber accord and smells of vanilla musk accord in the dry down.
“I wanted to create something that was truly unique to me in every aspect, from the scent to the bottle, and a fragrance that people have never smelled before but that feels immediately comforting and delicious,” shares Jenner in a press statement. Available in three refillable bottle sizes (30 ML, 50ML and 100ML) plus a travel-friendly pen spray, we predict Cosmic will be a staple spring and summer scent.
