The Strangers have taken over with the release of The Strangers: Chapter 1, director Renny Harlin’s new take on the contemporary classic by Bryan Bertino. The vision is a trilogy that follows our Final Girl through hell and back as she runs from the axe-wielding hands of the titular villains. But tackling the film, or films, was certainly not an easy task.
In The Strangers: Chapter 1:
After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple (Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez) are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive in The Strangers: Chapter 1, the chilling first entry of this upcoming horror feature film series.
We spoke with stars Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez, director Renny Harlin, and producer Courtney Solomon about their love of the original film and what they wanted to accomplish with their new take.
