It looks like we are going to be getting an animated Ghostbusters series from Netflix! The animated take is being worked on by director, Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan. The duo both worked on Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
We have very fond memories of The Real Ghostbusters animated series. It was easily one of the best cartoons to come out of the 1980s. The series focused on the four guys from the film as they further explored the paranormal in New York City.
It is a bummer that so far, there is no mention of either Joe Medjuck or Michael C. Gross coming aboard to work on this animated series. These two were the creators of The Real Ghostbusters. There was hope earlier in the year that the original creators would return to the series and bring back that classic style of animation in the process.
I’m just hoping that we actually get real animation and not more CG. There are entirely too many CG cartoons out there. This needs to go back to the classic Real Ghostbusters style. Heck, bring back as many original voices as possible too!
We will have to wait and see what kind of series this ends up being. We will be sure to keep you updated as details emerge.
