Last weekend at the Days of the Dead Horror Convention, Fuzz on the Lens Productions (the production team behind Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3) announced that Stream 2, a sequel to the indie horror success Stream, has officially been greenlit and is in development! At the event, Stream director Michael Leavy explained that the new film is poised to build on its predecessor’s all-too-real technology-driven storyline while still maintaining the feel of a classic slasher.
Leavy returns as director alongside David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown in Terrifier), who will reprise his role as Player 2.
“I’m excited to return for Stream 2 and explore more of who Player 2 is. It’s great being part of yet another horror franchise that’s driven by the fans, and to do it again with this group is a dream come true,” Thornton said about the upcoming sequel. “From Terrifier to Screamboat and Stream this is a dream team. Stream 2 is going to take the next step forward like we did from Terrifier 1 to 2, but this time we will skip right to 3.”
Jason Leavy will also be returning as a producer, with Steven Della Salla as the producer and director of
photography.
Stream centers around a game that pits masked murderers against each other as they compete to rack up the most creative kills possible. Even better? It’s all live-streamed to fans at home who bet on the action.
“Stream was always meant to be a love letter to the horror community. From the moment it hit theaters, the fan response has been overwhelmingly positive, and it continues to build on that strong foundation with a fresh Rotten Tomatoes score of 95%, so it’s only logical to give the people what they want … More Blood and More Points,” said Leavy.
Stream 2 is currently in development with a script outline already in place. No budget or production timeline has been announced yet. According to Fuzz on the Lens Productions, the film will continue the company’s tradition of fun, uncensored, unrestricted, and unrated horror films.
Stream is available now on VOD, with a physical release coming this summer.
