After surpassing all expectations and bringing in $200 million at the box office globally, Smile is now available on digital and Paramount+ and I had the opportunity to have a spoiler-filled discussion with Parker Finn to talk about the film’s ending, practical effects, and the possibilities of a sequel!
“Paramount+ and Paramount Home Entertainment today announced that the terrifying and inventive horror phenomenon SMILE will be available to stream on Paramount+ and will be available to purchase on Digital beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the U.S. and Canada and across most Paramount+ markets outside the U.S. in 2023.
Paramount Pictures presents, in association with Paramount Players, the groundbreaking psychological thriller starring Sosie Bacon (“Scream: The TV Series”), Jessie T. Usher (“Dangerous Lies”), Kyle Gallner (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”), Robert Weigert (“The Undying”) and Caitlin Stasey (“Bridge and Tunnel”), with Kal Penn (“The Sisterhood of Night”) and Rob Morgan (“The Unforgivable”).
The film has earned more than $200 million to date in global box office grosses, making it the #1 original horror film of the year.
After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.
SMILE, a Temple Hill production, is written and directed by Parker Finn. The film is produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner and Robert Salerno and executive produced by Adam Fishbach.
SMILE is rated R for strong violent content and grisly images, and language.”
