General Hospital fans have taken to social media to debate which actress played the role of Lulu Spencer better. This comes amid the possibility of a romantic relationship between Lulu and Nathan West, which has taken the fanbase by storm.
Here’s what the fans are saying.
General Hospital fans are torn between Julie Berman and Emme Rylan as the best Lulu
Currently, Alex Havins has taken up the mantle of playing Lulu Spencer on General Hospital, succeeding Emme Rylan in 2024. Apart from the two, Julie Marie Berman also portrayed the role from 2005-2013. While Berman wasn’t the first to play the character, she was the one who made the character so popular.
Now, a fan took to the show’s Facebook page to ask others about their favorite choice. The user wrote, “Which Lulu do you prefer?” and posted with a photo of Havins and Rylan. The post has quickly gone viral, garnering responses from thousands of other fans.
One user wrote, “The prior one. The new one whines too much.” Another added, “Both are great, but I miss Emme Ryan.” A third user simply commented, “Emme Rylan.”
While the user who posted only two names, Havins and Rylan, some users pointed out that Berman should’ve also been on the list. One user replied, “The original that’s not on here, Julie Berman.” A second one said, “Hands down, I prefer Julie Berman as Lulu than the others.” “I liked the old Lulu,” said a third one.
Some users took the opportunity to applaud Havins’s performance. A user said, “I really miss original Lulu. Second Lulu is very good and I miss her too, but with how angry she is now, I’m glad the character was recast. Current Lulu is doing a great job with the role.”
Currently, the show appears to be heading towards creating a romantic relationship between Lulu and Nathan, as the two bond over their ongoing troubles. Plus, the showrunners have revealed that Maxie will return in the coming months. This combination of events has sparked major debate on how their relationship will affect Maxie.
In an interview, Ryan Paevey, the actor who plays Nathan, shared his views on this developing relationship. He told Woman’s World, “It’s always good to have a love interest on a soap, and Nathan could certainly do worse than Lulu. Will we or won’t we? We have a lot in common, so we commiserate. And there’s definitely chemistry there, so I’m interested to see.”
