Prime Video has announced the release date for The Gray House, the upcoming historical drama about the brave women who served as Union spies during the American Civil War. The first official photos from the miniseries have also been released, featuring the main cast led by Golden Globe winner Mary-Louise Parker.
“The series reveals the extraordinary true story of the unsung women who helped turn the tide of the American Civil War in favor of the Union. At its center are a Virginia socialite, her indomitable mother, a formerly enslaved ally, and Richmond’s most infamous courtesan—four women operating at the heart of Confederate power,” reads the show’s official synopsis. “Together, they evolve their Underground Railroad operation into a daring and highly effective espionage network, risking their lives and freedom to help preserve the nation’s future and safeguard American Democracy.”
When is the release date for The Gray House?
The Gray House has now officially been scheduled to start streaming on Thursday, February 26, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. The eight-episode show stars Daisy Head, Amethyst Davis, Paul Anderson, Ian Duff, Hannah James, Robert Knepper, Christopher McDonald, Colin Morgan, Rob Morrow, Colin O’Donoghue, and Sam Trammell, with Keith David and Ben Vereen.
The show is directed by Roland Joffé from a screenplay written by Leslie Greif & Darrell Fetty, and John Sayles. Executive producers are Kevin Costner, Rod Lake, and Howard Kaplan for Territory Pictures, and Leslie Greif for Big Dreams Entertainment, along with Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary for Revelations Entertainment. It features original music from Lainey Wilson, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, Killer Mike, Yolanda Adams, Jon Bon Jovi, and more.
