Michael Rooker has finally been confirmed to appear in Peacemaker Season 2 as Red St. Wild, following months of fan theories and speculation. Rumors intensified after Gunn teased new cast additions and shared early footage hinting at Eagly’s storyline. Now, Gunn has revealed Rooker’s role as a key antagonist, introducing fresh conflict and deeper ties to the evolving DCU.
Michael Rooker’s Red St. Wild is Eagly’s nemesis in Peacemaker Season 2
Michael Rooker returns to the DC Universe in Peacemaker Season 2 as Red St. Wild, a new antagonist introduced by James Gunn. Gunn describes the character as “the world’s foremost eagle hunter” who is on a mission to kill Eagly, Peacemaker’s loyal avian companion. Red St. Wild, played by Rooker, directly opposes Eagly and takes on a major role in the season’s expanded storylines.
This marks Rooker’s fourth appearance in the DCU. He previously voiced Sam Fitzgibbon in Creature Commandos, played Superman Robot #5, and portrayed Savant in Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (2021).
Gunn confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Red St. Wild brings a new layer to Season 2 by giving Eagly a personal adversary. “We thought Eagly was probably the most popular character from season 1,” Gunn said. “So in season 2, he has his own story with his nemesis, played by none other than the despicable Michael Rooker.”
Season 2 will also introduce new characters such as Langston Fleury, an A.R.G.U.S. agent played by Tim Meadows. Gunn explained that Fleury fills the emotional void left by Peacemaker’s growth, noting that the title character is now “a much softer guy.” Gunn said Fleury is “a very politically incorrect asshole throughout most of the season,” contrasting with Peacemaker’s emotional evolution.
The new season connects directly to the broader DCU, particularly Gunn’s Superman reboot. “It’s very much connected to Superman and what comes after,” Gunn said. The show features cameos from Superman characters, including Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn). It also centers on the Quantum Unfolding Chamber (QUC), a key piece of technology that appears in Superman.
Gunn said Season 2 takes place “a couple years” after the Season 1 finale. However, he intentionally kept the exact timeline vague.
