Kayleigh “Kmoy” Malloy released The Precure Album in 2021. It’s a brilliant ska concept album that, according to the In Defense of Ska gang, could be described as “Laptop Ska.” Luckily, The Precure Album found its audience — Kmoy is now a full band and the record is finally getting a vinyl release (pre-order it here). Malloy and Capizzi (who did the art for The Precure Album’s re-release) chat about the journey of the collection of ska songs from computer to vinyl, what it’s been like for Malloy since she transitioned, and the visuals of Kmoy. They also touch on the accompanying art book, mixing the record, and what Malloy believes are the key songs on The Precure Album.
