Smashing Pumpkins are taking fans back to the year 2000 by releasing the 25th anniversary edition of the band’s fifth studio album, Machina/The Machines of God. Listen to it below.
The new edition has been newly remixed and remastered, with some tracks being extended while others have been trimmed. The reissue includes the song “Speed Kills,” which was not available on the original release.

Smashing Pumpkins’ completists can head over to Billy Corgan’s Madame Zuzu’s tea shop in in Highland Park, Illinois, for a special 80-song box set that contains the updated Machina/The Machines of God that also includes the band’s other album released in 2000, Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music, plus an additional 32 bonus tracks of demos, outtakes, and live performances. “Machina was meant as our swan song, and it was truly a labor of love to bring it to fruition, however broken we were back then,” Corgan said when the reissue was announced back in June.
