If you’re anything like me, you’re super interested in celebrity wealth. As someone who still considers whether or not to add the guac at Chipotle, it’s almost hard to imagine this level of rich.
Well, I recently wrote about celebrities and old money, and that got me wondering which famous people married into new money (either self-made or their parents made the bulk of their family’s money):

Dancer Kym Johnson-Herjavec met Robert Herjavec on Dancing with the Stars, where they were partnered for Season 20. She married the Shark Tank entrepreneur in 2016, and they welcomed twins Hudson and Haven two years later. Robert is reportedly worth around $320 million.

In 2008, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey tied the knot, and they welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe three years later. They finalized their divorce in 2016. Mariah has an estimated net worth of $340 million, in no small part thanks to “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which is rumored to earn her between $2.5 million—$3 million per year.

In 2006, Salma Hayek started dating François-Henri Pinault, CEO of Kering — the corporation his father founded that owns brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, and Yves Saint Laurent. He’s also a managing partner of Groupe Artémis, an investment company. The couple welcomed daughter Valentina Paloma in 2007 and tied the knot in 2009. François-Henri’s net worth reportedly sits around $20 billion.

In 2013, Monster Garage host Jesse James tied the knot with American drag racer Alexis DeJoria. They announced their split nearly seven years later. Alexis is the daughter of John Paul DeJoria, who co-founded numerous businesses like the Patrón Spirits Company and the Paul Mitchell hairline. He’s reportedly worth $3 billion.

After meeting at a 2001 concert, Portia de Rossi ran into Ellen DeGeneres at a photo shoot in 2004. They began dating soon after and planned a commitment ceremony in August 2008. Same-sex marriage became legal months before, so they chose to marry instead. Ellen’s net worth is reportedly $450 million.

In 2017, Offset started dating and married Cardi B. Over the next seven years, they were on-again-off-again, with Cardi announcing their split several times, only to get back together. In July 2024, she filed for divorce; the following day, she announced her pregnancy with their third child. She gave birth to their second daughter in September. Though her net worth was estimated at $80 million this year, Cardi told Complex she’s likely surpassed that.

From 2018–2022, Kaley Cuoco was married to Olympic equestrian Karl Cook. Karl’s father, Scott Cook, co-founded Intuit, a software company that specializes in financial software (you’ve probably heard of their products like TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Credit Karma). Scott’s net worth is reportedly at $6.8 billion.

In 2011, Hailey Bieber was introduced to Justin Bieber at a concert meet-and-greet arranged by their parents. They later became friends, eventually dating, splitting, reuniting, and finally tying the knot in 2018. This year, they welcomed their first child together: a son named Jack Blues. Justin’s net worth is estimated at $305 million.

Elton’s net worth is estimated at $550 million.

In 2022, Brooklyn Beckham — son of David and Victoria Beckham — married Nicola Peltz. She is the daughter of Nelson Peltz, co-founder of asset management firm Trian Partners. While Brooklyn’s parents are reportedly worth $576 million, Nicola’s father’s wealth sits at an estimated $1.7 billion.

And finally, Talulah Riley was married to Elon Musk from 2010–2012. They divorced and were quickly wed again, this time from 2013–2016. The Tesla CEO enjoyed major financial gains after the election and is now reportedly worth $347 billion, cementing his place as the richest person in the world.
