Before Cher was the legend we all know and love, she was already being iconic.
Even as a teen, the future superstar was playing with men’s hearts… and other body parts. The first installment of her tell-all, Cher: The Memoir, Part One, dropped last week, and one story is already getting a lot of attention. It’s the tawdry tale of how Cher lost her V-card! Or shall we say, she traded it for some spite! Yow!

The If I Could Turn Back Time singer recalled when she was 14 years old she was dating a guy in her neighborhood who was all hot for her in private… But when the guys were around, he turned on her! She wrote, per People:
“[He] was sweet enough when we were alone, but as soon as his friends came around, he’d treat me like an embarrassing kid. I was so hurt when he did that, I had revenge sex with him.”
Yeah, that’ll show him! Wait, what?? First, she explained she knew she wasn’t ready for sex yet:
“I had never wanted to. Otherwise I would have done it one of the five hundred other times he asked.”
This was a different situation. She wasn’t giving in, she was using sex as a weapon this one time:
“But I was so angry at being dismissed, I decided to, if not lose, loan out my virginity to him.”
What does she mean? It wasn’t allowing him the honor that was the revenge… it was what she did next!
“When what turned out to be a massively overrated experience came to an end, I asked him, ‘Is that it? Are we finished?’ Then I told him to go home and never come back. I wanted him to feel just as dismissed as he’d made me feel.”
DAMN! That is severe! We wish we could say there was a lot of unproblematic love in the teen’s immediate future after that one incident, but… unfortunately she tells the story in the book about meeting her husband Sonny Bono just two years later. She was 16 at the time, and he was 27. And it gets worse from there.
But hey, she’s making up for lost time now with much younger BF Alexander “AE” Edwards, right?
What do YOU think of Cher’s story? Badass girl power or a minor mistake??
