Donald Trump is giving Tiger Woods the seal of approval.
More than a week after the golf champion hard launched his relationship with Vanessa Trump, ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., the 47th president shared his perspective on the budding romance.
“I love Tiger, and I love Vanessa,” President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office March 31. “Tiger actually called me a few months ago, and I have a very special, very good relationship with Tiger.”
And though the two shared a strong bond beforehand, the 15-time majors champion—who shares daughter Sam, 17, and son Charlie, 16, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren—thought it might be best to reveal their relationship on familiar grounds.
“I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month,” Trump continued of the 49-year-old, “and he’s a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete, and he told me about it.”
“I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good. That’s good,’” he added. “I’m very happy for both. Let them both be happy.”
