Their main dispute occurred because they decided to exclude other candidates who qualified for the competition. People praised Adam Vinatieri but they also expressed doubt about his significance as a historical figure. User ‘Who is Roger Craig?’ asked the question which another user answered with ‘That kicker is Adam Vinetari [sic], well deserved induction’ but they made a mistake by using Craig’s name instead of the kicker’s. The exchange demonstrated how different generations perceive legacy players in different ways.
The Hall of Fame receives criticism because it treats coaches unfairly when compared to other sports leagues. One detailed reply argued, ‘The other 3 major NA sports allow coaches and managers into their hall of fames…Coaching is very important in the NFL,’ implicitly criticizing Belichick’s continued wait.

One commentator presented a cynical perspective when he described a chosen athlete as a ‘Pyramid scheme pushing cheater’ because he referred to off-field business issues that might affect Hall of Fame eligibility according to some people.
