Leah Remini Confirms Jennifer Lopez Texted Her A Lot During Mutual Divorces, BUT…

Leah Remini is getting candid about where she stands with Jennifer Lopez.

As Perezcious readers know, the ladies used to be BFFs (after meeting in 2004), but when J.Lo tied the knot to Ben Affleck in 2022, Leah was notably absent from the wedding. Reports insisted she was busy moving her daughter into college and that there was no falling out — but others soon revealed the friends had gotten into a fight — over the actor, no less! Other issues were also reportedly weighing on the friendship, leading them to cut ties.

But once they both filed for divorce within days of each other — J.Lo from Ben and Leah from her husband Angelo Pagán — they reportedly reconnected. Last we heard, they were bonding again and on their way to a fresh new chapter in their friendship after having a “long heart-to-heart.” Yay!

But did any of this last? Are they back to being pals? Well… It sounds complicated! On Wednesday, Leah confirmed the pair did start speaking again while chatting with Us Weekly about their friendship. She recalled:

“Right after the divorce, we’d text each other loving messages of support.”

Sweet!

The King of Queens star also urged that they were never feuding, adding:

“Sometimes you don’t talk to people every day like you used to, but that doesn’t mean the love is lost. Friendships ebb and flow. That doesn’t mean we’re at odds.”

Well, good. That’s refreshing to hear! Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like those texts were the start of a new friendship, though. They still aren’t as close as they once were — and they likely never will be! The 54-year-old noted she’s “in a different place” in her life now that it’s been over a decade since she left Scientology, which changed a lot about her lifestyle:

“I really retreated [after leaving]. But also not really wanting to leave the house that much. I started to come out a bit but was still careful and cautious.”

As for how this has impacted her friendships, she furthered:

“I cherish my friendships and not everybody is meant to be in your life in the way that they were. When you grow out of that person that you were, that doesn’t mean that you are at odds with them. I have many friends that I don’t talk to every day. That doesn’t mean we’re at odds — it’s just that I’m at a different place and so are they.”

She’s not wrong. There are all kinds of friendships! While it’s sad to think they’ll never get back what they once had, at least they’ve reconnected and have been able to maintain some kind of bond! That’s better than nothing!

Taking J.Lo’s place as a friend Leah calls every single day is now Michelle Visage, and she also revealed Holly Robinson, Tisha Campbell, and Chelsea Handler are other besties she considers her “lifeline” these days.
