Lexi Wood is creating a stir with her current workout, in its own way putting yoga mat and energy in the middle of Times Square at such an astrophysical level. Wood shared a clip of herself, dancing amidst chaos at the busiest intersection in New York City, in collaboration with the energy drink company Celsius. To the upbeat track, the clip depicts Wood gently stretching while underfoot, pedestrians mildewed on-their-own claim that you can be-fit-without-working-out-in-the-gym.

The caption was very simple: “Come with me to do yoga in Times Square with @celsiusofficial,” which is pretty much Wood’s subtle way of inviting people into public spectacle. And why not? Times Square is already harsh on the senses; how much more could a little downward dog be? The post had #LiveFitGo and #CELSIUSbrandpartner attached for good measure, further cementing the relationship between Wood and the brand, who have been into pushing their fitness-friendly metabolism-boosting drinks in the influencer space.
The reaction turned out mixed but mostly amused. Another user said, “Okay big sis but what can’t you do!???!!!,” which is a fair question after all of Wood’s track record of performing unconventional workouts in even more unconventional locations. Another said, “Making me want to bust out the mat 🧘♀️,” which only speaks to the vibes Wood is giving off being too contagious through a screen.
Another uninspiring comment came from another language: “SpongeBob Story Adult Version,” which… sure, and why not? The net is mad, and somehow, Lexi Wood’s yoga set off that energy.
An interesting suggestion was found in the reply, “@lindsayrryder I WOULD LOVE,” indicating that spontaneous urban yoga from Wood could well be the instigator of an actual movement. Imagine the flash mob of yogis howling in Times Square. Actually, do not: if this is not already a reality, it surely must be in the cards for New Yorkers!
This post by Wood serves as a reminder that fitness need not be serious and solemn. Occasionally, it is about dropping your mat smack into that storm of chaos and somehow making friends with zen. And if that chaos is just surrounded by flashing billboards and tourists snapping selfies, well, that is just a bonus.
From here, Celsius continues to associate themselves with high energy and trailblazing influencers like Wood and steer the label toward one that fuels alternative lifestyles. Be it in/around yoga in Times Square or an exclamation point in the middle of the desert, the message is clear: if you check in with moving at all, move boldly.
Hopefully, that is one-off or the start of an entire collection, as has yet to be confirmed by Wood. However, considering her history, the very good guess is that she’ll be turning a lot of public spaces into pop-up gyms. What’s up with subway platforms at rush hour? That’ll be the one to test our focus.
