Miley Cyrus had to get creative to hide her, um, spending habits!
On Friday, the 32-year-old singer appeared on the Every Single Album podcast to talk about her music, and her career in the public eye. During the convo, though, she also got on an interesting topic: how she used to buy drugs at a VERY prodigious pace during the making of her 2015 album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz… only to then hide it from her accountant in some super creative ways!!

According to the Wrecking Ball singer on the pod, drugs were her “biggest cost” while she was making that album. In fact, she spent so much money on illegal substances that she had to get subtle about her acquisitions!
Per Miley on the pod, she came up with a code word that she’d use whenever her accountant asked about certain purchases the pop music superstar had been making: by calling them “vintage clothes.” The Flowers singer explained:
“We called them vintage clothes. And every time [my accountant] saw me, she’d be like, ‘Where’s that, like, $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?’ It’s like, ‘Oh, it’s upstairs.’”
OMG!
But that wasn’t all!! To throw off the CPA even further, Miley said she’d also claim the clothes were “really delicate” and were thus being stored away in order to “protect” them from damage. Hence, that is why the accountant could never actually get a look at the (non-existent) vintage rags.
Miley mused:
“So, I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year.”
LOLz!
In the end, she also used the podcast to reflect on how crazy that time was… and how far she’s come in the years since.
The former Disney Channel star noted how things have gotten so much better in her life ever since getting through that strange period of existence and maturing into who she is now:
“I’m so glad I survived that time in my life. I would definitely not encourage anyone else to go this hard, but the fact that I got through it, I’m very glad I got to do it.”
Honestly, that’s not a bad perspective. She has definitely lived through a lot of life, in a lot of ways, and come out from it to the other side by now.
