It sure sounds like Miley Cyrus is trying to stay as far away as possible from all the drama looming around her father Billy Ray Cyrus following his performance earlier this month at Donald Trump‘s presidential inauguration.
As we’ve been reporting, Billy Ray’s performance did not exactly go to plan. And then, in the aftermath, Miley’s brother Trace Cyrus openly voiced concerns about the family patriarch’s well-being. Things got so sticky so quickly that Billy Ray even threatened to bring legal action against his own son! Seriously!
Plus, on Saturday, we reported on quotes from an insider who was keen on making it clear that Miley and Noah Cyrus are desperately trying to play peacemaker and avoid any more extended family drama after a long and not-so-good history of it. And now, there’s MORE!!

On Sunday, People published quotes from an insider who revealed Miley’s current outlook as the Billy Ray brouhaha gets louder and louder. According to that source, the 32-year-old doesn’t want any conflict with any of her loved ones — at all!
The insider explained:
“Miley used to feel overwhelmed by the family drama. She worked hard to remove herself. She’s not about to get involved again.”
The source went on to add that Miley seems to be fully focused on herself, rather than angling back to get involved in even more of the longstanding family feud:
“She’s in a great place now. She’s thriving and looking out for herself.”
That’s great! And it’s true, too. After all, Miley does have Grammy hopes forthcoming thanks to the studio work she put in on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album that’ll be up for awards at that iconic show right around the corner. So, she’s got plenty of positivity on her plate! No reason to drag herself back through the mud, we feel…
BTW, the Angels Like You singer and her momma Tish Cyrus seem to be all good right now, too. A source told the mag about that relationship specifically, as well:
“She has a great relationship with her mom. She’s happy her mom is doing well too.”
Well, that’s good, at least. Still, even though Miley may not want to be involved at all, on some level, she may not have a choice — this family drama is seriously heating back up, and with it comes a TON of eyeballs and attention from fans all over the world. Not ideal for any of ’em!
