Romeo Beckham and Kim Turnbull weren’t able to weather the storm together!
In case you missed it, news broke on Wednesday that the pair broke up after seven months of dating. Why? A source close to the Beckhams claimed to Us Weekly on Friday they parted ways because of the messy family feud! As you know, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are on the outs with the Beckhams. The two brothers reportedly had a falling out because Brooklyn dated Kim before marrying Nicola. So when Romeo began a romance with the DJ, things got awkward. Nicola and Brooklyn thought Kim was not with Romeo for the right reason and wanted nothing to do with her. In fact, the married couple didn’t even want to be in the same room as Kim, so much so they skipped dad David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations last month.

However, not every insider believes Kim is to blame for the family drama! Others say Nicola is the main source of contention, making it very clear that everything stems from the tension between her and Victoria Beckham. Apparently, these two women just do NOT like each other! Although Kim may not have been the root of the rift, she likely didn’t help matters! And ultimately, everything became too much for her and Romeo! The Us Weekly source explained:
“Romeo and Kim did split because of the family drama. It was mutual. It was just too much pressure and tension looming over them. It put a lot of strain on them and there was no path forward. It was unfortunate that it got to that point, but family comes first for Romeo.”
Oof. That is tough.
However, a second source close to the fam denied the feud caused the breakup! They claimed:
“Romeo and Kim’s split had nothing to do with family issues. They just drifted apart. They’re young and both focused on their careers.”
Hmm. Drifting apart could have played a factor in the split! Totally! However, do you seriously want us to believe the family rift had nothing to do with it? We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s what actually caused the two to drift apart!
Now that Kim is out of the picture, everyone wants to know if the Beckhams will end their rift. Unfortunately, don’t get your hopes up. Things are still rocky. Brooklyn hasn’t even attempted to reach out to anyone in the family. The second source said:
“Brooklyn has not reached out. He is doing his own thing right now. There was a lot of damage done and he is adamant about his space. He is continuing to keep them at a distance. It will take a lot of time. Brooklyn loves his family but he will always stand by his wife.”
A third insider noted that “a lot of damage was done by his family, and Brooklyn needs space to heal.” How long does he need? Who knows? But the first source noted that “David and Victoria [Beckham] are hopeful the boys will mend things soon,” adding:
“They just want their family to be at peace and whole again.”
From what we’ve heard, the parents also need to put in some work to mend the fence, not just Brooklyn and Romeo! A lot of healing needs to happen in the family, and we hope it does happen one day! But for now, perhaps distance and time to cool off is what’s needed…
