Sabrina Carpenter created a huge buzz with the announcement of an exclusive vinyl edition for her forthcoming title ‘Man’s Best Friend.’ The alternate cover is the last one; it comes with a bonus track, ‘Such A Funny Way,’ which is a vinyl-only track. Three weeks from the release, Carpenter gave the fans a little tease, stating, “Signed vinyl preorders are limited until sold out; can’t wait for it to be yours x.” The picture also showed Carpenter in a shimmering gown amidst a classy dinner party ambiance, reinforcing the exclusivity of the release.

The announcement was met with a rush of fandom reactions, mostly excited, with some viewers disgruntled about the multiple vinyl editions. One screaming half-heartedly, “Miss Sabrina you need to stop making alt cover vinyls I’m out of money 😭😭😭😭😭😭,” eliciting a flurry of playful and defensive responses. Another one went on the attack, “Nobody forces you to buy them all,” proceeding to defend the collector’s pleasure in having multiple versions.
International fans voiced their crises: one dared to ask, “Let me guess only for USA?”; another pleaded, “Can you please please please come to NZ? 🙏.” Some even confessed their hatred for regional exclusivity, complaining, “What’s with all these bonus tracks that not everyone gets to listen to? Internationally it’s expensive to buy vinyls from the US.”
Brazilian fans went into an inorganic war for which cover should have been the official one in the middle of the infighting. “This is simply the most beautiful cover of all, I swear to God,” said one commenting in Portuguese, thus beginning the debate about which was best. Another went for the jokes: “Try not to say MOTHER challenge,” which is a trend that has people picking celebrities as parental figures; however, not everyone was amused, as one user retorted, “What is with everyone referring to a celebrity as a parental figure? You guys need to chill out.”
The whole scene had some swooning over the idea of Carpenter’s marketing. One rather admiring statement was recited: “You really know what you’re doing, don’t you, love?” Another shouting, “Gorgeous. Stunning. Perfect. I’m in love!” There was growing anticipation for the record as an eager fan was heard saying, “Can not wait!!! My record player is ready!!!!!”
Nevertheless, not everything that was said was pleasant or tied to silly excitement. An off-topic comment from an extremist rant floated atop the fervent reactions and rapidly sunk into elusiveness. Then the focus was basically back on the music, looks, and excruciating choice of editions.
Down to almost nothing at the countdown to release, Carpenter once again manages to stir publicity pot and a bit speedy camaraderie debate that has made her just one of a few in the pop lane. Signed editions are now built for contention, and with everybody bickering over which one to get, ‘Man’s Best Friend’ has all the hype behind it. With only three weeks standing between announcement and release, very few will have the luxury to anoint these limited editions while they last.
