Mario Bros. World Premiere Postponed to Spring 2023, Shigeru Miyamoto Says.
After many years of plans for a Super Mario Brothers animated movie began in 2018, with Nintendo and Universal reporting a partnership on the project. “This is Miyamoto. After consulting with our partner Chris at Illumination regarding the release of the Mario Brothers movie, we have decided to move the world premiere to Spring 2023. The new release date is April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. I apologize, and please give us a little more time to make an interesting film,” the message says.
The project is based on the video game “Super Mario Bros.”. It was developed in 1985 and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the best selling. The main character is the plumber Mario. He goes on a dangerous journey to save the princess. Luigi is his younger brother. If two users connect to the game, then the second participant can take the test for him.
About the heroes of “Super Mario Bros.” filming has already been made. In 1993, the movie “Super Mario Bros” was released, but it turned out to be a failure.
