Ali Fedotowsky-Manno is one of the most popular Bachelorette stars. She’s already had a tough year after her husband’s illness. Some fans of the show slammed her for animal cruelty. Keep reading to find out why.
Ali Fedotowsky-Manno Shares Family Pet’s Health Struggles
Ali Fedotowsky-Manno found her husband after a failed relationship with her Bachelorette winner, Roberto Martinez. She married Kevin Manno in 2017. The couple live in Nashville and have two children together.
She revealed in January that her husband was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He didn’t have any symptoms before diagnosis. In a recent update on Instagram, she shared that he had surgery and is on the mend. The cancer was caught early enough that it shouldn’t be a problem.

However, the diagnosis and surgery were hard on her family. The Bachelorette alum got more bad news last month. Her elderly dog, Owen, suffered a series of seizures. After taking the dog to the vet for an MRI, it was discovered that the dog had a massive brain tumor.
Ali Fedotowsky-Manno and her family decided to try to treat the cancer with radiation treatments. But they have to travel with Owen to Chattanooga, Tennessee because the treatments aren’t available in Nashville.
Heartbreaking Update
Owen was a very good boy through the first treatments, even though Ali said he was afraid of going to the vet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like the radiation is working. The reality star took to Instagram this week to share a heartbreaking update.
She had to rush Owen back to the vet after having three more seizures. According to her vet, the seizures aren’t uncommon after radiation treatment. In another update, Ali Fedotowsky-Manno said that Owen seemed to be doing better. He was only sleeping 22 hours a day instead of 23.

Bachelorette Fans Slam Her For Animal Cruelty
Every pet owner dreads the day they will have to decide to let their pet go. Ali Fedotowsky-Manno and her family decided it wasn’t time just yet. However, some Bachelor Nation fans disagree with her. They think she’s being selfish by letting her dog suffer, especially at such an advanced age and with a brain tumor.

Fans took to social media to blast Ali’s decision to keep treating the dog with radiation.
- “At this point, you’ve got to think about their quality of life. Love is merciful.”
- “I think it’s time to let go. The dog lived a long life, and brain tumors are horrible on humans imagine a dog that cannot even express his discomfort.”
- “He is almost 12 and has a beautiful life. You have to ask yourself if you are doing this for him, or doing it for you since you don’t feel ready to lose him.”
- “Sometimes being a good dog mom is letting them go”
- “I actually find this very selfish. He is an elderly dog and by her own posts is spending 22 of the 24 hours each day sleeping, which is no quality of life for the poor dog.”
- “It’s 100% selfish. Sad for them but part of being a pet parent is making difficult decisions and making hard choices. It’s past time.”
- “So selfish. This poor dog. Dogs live in the moment. They aren’t trying to stretch their lifespans to get the most out of life. They are here and love while they can. Don’t torture them at the end of their life.”
- “This is such a heart breaking situation but the second your dog is in this much continued pain is when you have to stop being selfish and let them go in peace.”
