The long-anticipated premiere of The Flip Off occurred on HGTV last night. Real estate moguls Tarek El Moussa, Heather El Moussa, and Christina Haack have been heavily promoting the series since mid-2024.
But as many HGTV fans know, production was rocked with drama and strife. How did Christina Haack react to watching her third marriage crumble on television?
Christina Haack Admits Feeling Uncomfortable Watching The Flip Off
The El Moussas and Christina Haack all had their reservations about filming together at first. However, the latter admitted the vast majority of her concerns boiled down to her then-husband, Josh Hall. He appeared in her other HGTV shows and she knew exactly what he was like to work with.
According to the celebrity designer, Josh Hall could be quite cantankerous on the set, no matter what the show.
“Not everyone is easy to film with,” Christina shared with Yahoo Entertainment. “Josh and I always had struggles filming together, and I was worried about that going into it. That was really my only concern, not even Heather and Tarek.”
“My concern was how Josh was going to react to being able to film with [Tarek and Heather], because they are naturals and they’re both very good on camera,” the mother of three continued. “So watching that back, I was like, ‘Oh gosh.’ It just makes me feel so stressed to watch it back, because that really was the dynamic at play, and it wasn’t fun.”
In previous interviews, Christina admitted that Josh always grew very insecure around Tarek El Moussa. She noted Josh seemed jealous of her friendly relationship with her ex-husband.
Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa share two children and have a demonstrated history of working well together in the television industry. And even though Tarek has remarried and has a son with his second wife, Josh couldn’t seem to move past his jealousy.
The Celebrity Designer Felt Relieved After The Network Fired Josh
HGTV fans felt shocked at the released clips of The Flip Off ahead of the premiere date. In the footage, Josh Hall verbally berated Christina and said she was “pissing [him] off.”
In other interviews, Christina confessed she felt relieved after Josh Hall exited the show.
“So much easier without anybody else bothering me,” the 41-year-old shared on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “I don’t have to ask approval from anyone, no one’s weighing me down.”
