For a scene-by-scene breakdown of the hour, let’s delve into our recap below!

A woman is jogging outside and listening to music when she’s distracted by the deliveryman. However, it’s not the driver who startles her, but rather a woman who falls through the window from a few stories up.
Joan holds meetings with everyone on the floor to review their job performance. She speaks to everyone, but she hasn’t had a chance to talk to Amy yet. Apparently, Amy is spending the morning hanging out with Gina.
Amy and Gina chat with each other because Gina is still having a hard time finding the perfect therapist. She says it’s easier to find a soulmate, and Amy pokes fun at her since she’s on her third marriage.
Gina inquires about Amy’s love life, especially since the two women have noticed that Jake and Michael seem to be getting chummy now. However, Amy says she already loves two men and doesn’t have the time to navigate anything else.
She says that she has to stop punishing Jake since things are her fault, not his. But Amy is thrilled that things are going well with Katie. And she also urges Gina again to find a good therapist, since Gina still hasn’t found one to her liking.

Later, Joan confronts Amy about missing her appointment, despite having confirmed it via email. Amy doesn’t recall an email. Hannah is nearby, and she texts her brother to tell him to restore Amy’s email. They’re tampering with her, and now Amy is feeling like she’s going a bit crazy.
She has flashes again of the Christmas market. Amy checks her email and sees that it’s there and “she” confirmed. Hannah tells her that it may be a result of her treatments that she’s so forgetful and has brain fog.
Sonya and TJ treat an influencer, Ben, who has cancer. He records everything, using his influence to pay for cancer research. Liz seems amused by the guy.
Jake is on a case with Gina, treating the woman, Kim, who “fell” out of the window. Gina runs down how many times the woman has been to the hospital, showing signs of abuse.
Gina brings in the detective and tries to get Kim to tell the officer what really happened with her husband, Ray. But she won’t turn him in, and there’s nothing the cop can do about it.
The frustration of the cop is palpable. He starts blaming Gina for not doing enough, and Jake defends her, but Gina believes it’s up to her to convince the patient to change her mind and turn Ray in.

In flashbacks, Amy treats a DV survivor. She’s lying to Amy, and Amy gets really direct with her about how she needs to know the truth to treat her properly.
While in the present, Amy and Gina try to speak to their current patient. They tell her that one of her ribs almost punctured her heart, and they really fear that she could die next time. This should be her rock bottom.
Kim says that everything Gina has said to her has stuck with her, and she wants to leave him. She didn’t speak to the detective because she looked up how the laws are, and Ray would likely only get 90 days in jail, and if she runs, Ray will find her and kill her.
It’s not that she doesn’t want to leave; she doesn’t know how. Gina promises to help the patient, and Amy expresses concerns about Gina making promises she can’t keep. But Gina says that four years ago, Amy had a DV patient, and she helped the woman with an underground network specifically for abuse victims.
They need to figure out where Amy has the information.
Meanwhile, Hannah has her brother go through Amy’s information, and she tells him to share with her if Amy prescribes something today.

Sonya and TJ have to tell their influencer patient that his white blood cell count is high and his cancer may be back.
Amy and Gina comb through Amy’s previous patients that fit the criteria, and Amy figures out that it may be a woman named Emma. She calls the woman, identifies herself, and asks if there’s any way that she can help.
Emma says that someone will call back in ten minutes, and Gina shares this with her patient, indicating that someone may be on the way to help.
But as she’s talking to her, Ray comes in the room with flowers and “comforts her,” missing the icy reception that Gina gives him. Ugh, this guy is already the absolute worst!
Flashbacks to four years ago have Amy with Gina and Gina’s sister, Des. Des says her spouse, Greg, needs her for something, and she races off to meet up with him. Amy suspects that Gina’s sister is in an abusive relationship, but Gina doesn’t see it or want to see it.
Meanwhile, in the present, Gina, Amy, and Joan try to troubleshoot how they can address this situation with Ray and get him away from his wife, Kim.

Amy and Gina run their plan by Joan. They need her to clear an OR for five hours so they can bump Kim to surgery and use that as a way to get her out of there. Jake wheels Kim to surgery for the lung inflation she needs, and runs the surgery past Ray.
Hannah has her brother look to see what drugs Amy prescribed for Kim, and she has him change it from 1 milligram to 10mg. She also orchestrates it so that she’s the one to tell Joan what happened, lying and saying she tried to talk to Amy about it.
She tells Joan and also lies to Joan about Amy having a memory seizure. Joan heads to the OR and shows Amy the 10mg dosage. She warns her that she can’t make any more mistakes.
Sue, a member of the underground organization, sneaks into the OR and tells Kim what they have prepared for her. She reassures her that they can keep her on the move and set her up in a new city with a name and more, and it’ll take about a month to get her settled.
Sue tells Gina to have Kim ready by later that night because if they wait much longer, she could change her mind.

Sonya figures out that Ben, their patient, has been lying about cancer this whole time. It’s after Michael reprimands TJ for allowing himself and the doctors to be filmed.
Amy has another flash of a broken picture of two kids. It happens as she and Jake are operating on Kim and inflating her lungs. She confides in Jake about the incident with Joan, and he reminds her not to push herself too hard and to take care of herself.
Jake updates Ray and tells him that visiting hours are over and that he can return at 9 am the next morning. Ray seems suspicious of that but leaves.
Gina wheels Kim out early, but Ray is out there waiting for her, and she misses her ride from the network as they pass her by upon seeing Ray. Kim leaves with Ray, begrudgingly.
In flashbacks, Gina checks in with her sister and prods her, as she’s been alienating herself and hasn’t been around the family in a while. Gina tries to get Des to show her her arms since she’s covered up in the middle of summer. But Des doesn’t want to listen.

The following morning, at six a.m., Amy is there to support Gina at work. She points out that Gina is still hung up on her guilt about Ian and the people who died in the train crash. But Gina brings up how her sister Des was dealing with an abusive spouse.
Gina points out that Amy realized Des was dealing with abuse before she did. She shares that Des’s fiancé went after her one final time, and Des shot and killed him with his own gun. She took a plea deal and went to prison for involuntary manslaughter.
It’s something Gina didn’t share with Amy recently when they went to lunch and were talking about Des.
Gina feels like she failed Ian, Des, and now she’s failing Kim. She’s determined to save Kim, however she can. Amy gives her some advice and tells her to go home and get some rest.
Michael has a sit-down with Joan and brings up the issue with her switching around surgeries. Joan tells Michael that Amy is having episodes, and she asks him if he knows about it or is covering for Amy. He tells her that he’s not the keeper of Amy’s secrets.
Gina is heading home when she gets a call from Kim. She tells Gina that Ray isn’t home at the moment and he hasn’t done anything yet, but she knows he’s angry and that it’s coming. Gina heads over there but tells Amy what she’s doing.

At Kim’s place, she’s helping her pack when they hear Ray at the door, and Gina texts Amy to tell her to call the cops! Gina starts wheeling Kim out when Ray comes in. He stops them and says they aren’t going anywhere. He gets rough with Kim, but Gina starts goading him when she hears the cops are on their way.
She insults him, which he doesn’t like, and Ray starts beating Gina up. The cops come in as Ray is kicking and beating Gina.
Gina is in the hospital. She wakes up when she hears that Amy and Wendy are actually bonding and being cordial. Wendy, Gina’s wife, thanks Amy for having Gina’s back again, something that Amy doesn’t need thanking for, she says.
Amy reprimands Gina for putting herself at risk.
The head of the board lays into Michael for everything that happened, from Joan changing the OR schedules to Gina going off on her own and getting beaten up, and the influencer having the hospital on his page. But Michael claps back at him for micromanaging and tells him to let him do his job or get off his case.
Go Michael!

Sonya and TJ tell their patient, Ben, that his heart was damaged from chemo that he never needed because he never had cancer, and the doctor read the charts wrong. But his livelihood is linked to him having cancer, and he doesn’t know how to tell his followers the truth.
TJ has inherited some of Ben’s followers, and they’re following and DM’ing him. But Liz also sent him something. She’s into him, and Sonya teases him about their relationship.
Kim calls Gina to check on and thank her. Ray will be in jail for a few years, and now Kim gets to start over.
Amy catches up with Michael and tells him that Joan is benching her from practicing medicine for now until she gets a new neurologist.
Jake wishes her well, and Hannah smirks as she walks away from Amy after faking well-wishes. Amy has more flashes of a broken picture with kids in it after seeing Hannah.
